<p> 2. Work out with a friend. Not only can this help you actually get to your workout appointment, but friends can help encourage each other to work out with more intensity.</p>
<p> 3. Set a regular time for fitness. If you have fitness time incorporated into your schedule, it&#8217;s much easier to stick with it, especially over time.</p>
<p> 4. Find exercise activities that you enjoy. Whilst it&#8217;s important to have a balanced workout, there are many ways to build muscle and strength, flexibility, and get aerobic exercise. List the types of activities you enjoy, or think you might enjoy, and start working through all of them. You could even rotate them every 6 weeks.</p>
<p> 5. Build variety into your program. Not only does this make it more interesting, you&#8217;ll actually work different muscle groups, or the same muscles but in a different way. The challenges we create for our body in adapting to new types of exercises results in a fitter and stronger body. Change your program every 6 weeks.</p>

<p> 7. Frame the thought of exercise in a positive way in your mind. Even if you don&#8217;t like exercise, try and think of it in a positive way &#8211; that way you are less likely to talk yourself out of it. Think of how good you feel afterwards, not the pain involved in getting there!</p>
<p> 8. Exercise outdoors. Whether it&#8217;s team sports or swimming, get out in the fresh air!</p>
<p> 9. Try skipping. Skipping ropes fit into small bags, don&#8217;t require expensive gym memberships, are available for use 24 hours a day, are never overcrowded, and are great aerobic activity.</p>
<p> 10. Try resistance training. Resistance training will increase the size and strength of your muscles, thus preventing injuries. If you&#8217;re not up to free weights, take a circuit class, or a bodypump class.</p>
<p> 11. If you&#8217;re tired, or your muscles ache, try something a bit gentler &#8211; <img src="http://www.hometips.com/catimages/012803_swm_swimming_girl.jpg" alt="Swimming" hspace="10" vspace="10" width="152" height="175" align="left" /> but don&#8217;t avoid fitness entirely &#8216;until you feel better&#8217;. Swimming is good because it helps support the whole body, and it is still a good workout.</p>
<p> 12. Don&#8217;t rest too long between sets. Otherwise your workout will take a lot longer to complete, and it could be off-putting mentally the next time you are scheduled to do a workout, especially if you don&#8217;t have a lot of time that day.</p>
<p> 13. Use a heart rate monitor. That way you can make sure you are working out at the right intensity, thus maximizing your workout time. You&#8217;ll see improvements a lot more quickly that way.</p>

<p align="justify"> The further along you are in years, the more vital it is to exercise. Exercising even moderately will help in reversing the effects of aging, as long as you are consistent about it. It is not merely about living longer, but about having a better quality of life, both today and tomorrow.</p>
<p align="justify">By getting healthier and fitter, you will be able to continue doing the things that you have always found enjoyable, with less pains and aches, despite even being afflicted by arthritis.</p>
<p> A sedentary lifestyle is the only thing you need to avoid like the plague. You can take up almost any kind of physical activity to get started, although it must be reiterated that moderation is the keyword, especially when you begin on the exercise program, or have some sort of debilitating ailment.</p>
<p align="justify"> What is the best type of exercise? Anything that you will be motivated to do regularly. The important thing is that the sooner you begin, the more benefits you will be able to derive from it.</p>

<p> Bear in mind, it is never too late to begin exercising. According to research conducted on elderly residents of a nursing home, it was found that people even in their 80s and 90s improved their muscular strength and balance dramatically after merely eight weeks of working out with weights.</p>
<p> In order to get the most beneficial results, you need to combine flexibility and strength exercises along with aerobics. The key elements that exercise will help in improving are both physical and mental. Your mental acuity will be improved because exercise increases the flow of oxygen-rich blood to your brain, and physically, it will increase your flexibility, strength and endurance. Here are the main types of exercises that you need to incorporate in your life:</p>
<p> <strong>Endurance Exercises:</strong><img src="http://www.prevention.com/pvnstatic-assets/images/298x232_article_size/fitness/298x232-women_exercising-298x232_women_exercising.jpg" alt="Endurance Exercises" hspace="10" vspace="10" width="150" height="169" align="left" /></p>
<p align="justify">Endurance or aerobic exercises include walking (with the goal of being able to cover a mile in around 17 minutes), running, jogging, cycling, hiking, dancing, swimming, lawn mowing, gardening, tennis, golf (as long as you walk and not use the cart), and workouts on treadmills, climbers and stationary bikes.</p>
<p align="justify">The duration of each session should be 30 minutes, and the minimum frequency, about three times in a week.</p>
<p> <strong>Strength Training Exercises:</strong></p>
<p align="justify"> The examples of strength training exercises are lifting weights (take professional advice about the amount of weight to lift and the number of repetitions, when starting out), calisthenics (abdominal crunches, push-ups, etc.), and resistance exercises using bands and tubes.</p>
<p align="justify">Strength training exercises should be done on the days when you do not do aerobics.You can do 8-10 types of exercises each workout session, which should be about 30 minutes in duration, and give yourself rest for at least 48 hours between each session.</p>
<p> <strong>Stretching Exercises:</strong></p>

Stretch each of your main groups of muscles, such as legs, arms, shoulders, trunk and back, each stretch lasting for about 30 seconds, with 3-4 repetitions for each group of muscles.</p>
<p align="justify">It is important not to bounce or stretch to the point of feeling pain. Yoga has many excellent stretching exercises which are designed to improve the flexibility of your muscles and joints. Yoga also has a number of exercises that will improve your balance.</p>
<p> Physical activity can help you to improve your health and fitness tremendously. All you need to do is invest a minimum of 30 minutes of your time each day to exercising to prevent a wide variety of diseases and prolong your span of life. So go ahead, transform yourself from being a couch potato to an exercise aficionado, and reduce your risk of getting cardiovascular diseases, stroke, hypertension, and cancer, while you get fitter and stronger. By taking control of your health and fitness today, you will reap the benefits tomorrow.</p>

<p> This doesn&#8217;t have to mean forcing yourself to walk twice around your block on a rainy Sunday evening or something. Going to the mall will work just as well, especially if you start with a walk without stopping to shop. You can buy later and do what you want to do.</p>
<p> Like I said take the stairs not the elevator. Still, most people don&#8217;t do it. Will it help if I tell you that stairs are great for toning the butt and thighs?</p>
<p> Maybe your office is on the 30th floor and it would be lunchtime before you arrived at your desk. OK, walk up the first 3 flights and take the elevator from there.</p>

<p> If you have stairs in your home, office or apartment block, use every excuse to walk up them. Go see your colleague on the next floor instead of calling. Don&#8217;t pile things at the bottom of the stairs to take up later &#8211; take them one at a time, now!</p>
<p> You can see it as a form of home gym equipment without spending money for it.You can even un them up in a fast way, but wear good shoes if you want to do that.</p>
<p> Contract Your Abs the easy way.</p>
<p> Any time you are standing, contract your abs. Tighten, hold for 3 breaths, relax, repeat. You can do this any time. In the kitchen, in the bus where ever you want and it helps a lot for your weight loss fitness program.</p>

For example, stand up when the phone rings and walk around or just move your feet in the cellphone. Just move yourself to a better fitness.<br /> Time</p>
<p> Some of these options are going to take more time than doing it the unhealthy way at first. However, after a week or two you will find you have tons more energy. You will be more productive, which means you can do more in less time.</p>

<p align="justify">  One of the first questions you must ask yourself, what is my goal for joining a gym? You may want somewhere to relax, so a fitness facility that has more amenities may be your goal, example; pool, sauna, spa, and massage, this may be what&#8217;s best for you. Others may want to workout in a private studio with a trainer with no distractions. Find what works for you and fits your needs.</p>
<p> The next step is to shop around and see what&#8217;s available. I suggest trying at least 3 gyms/studios a few times.  Most gyms will give you a 1 week pass to try it out. Most people like working out close to where they live and I highly recommend this. If it&#8217;s not convenient, you&#8217;re probably not going to keep it up for long.</p>

Some sales people tend to put pressure on customers.  Stay strong and follow what feels right.</p>
<p> Now after you decided what gym best fits your needs, make sure you understand the contract and feel comfortable with the payment structure.  There are many options, again find what fits in your budget.</p>
<p> Ok, you joined the gym, but not sure where to start. Ask the question again, what are my fitness goals? If your goal is to swim a few laps in the pool and enjoy the spa, then all you need is a brief tour of the pool area. Make sure you understand the procedures and also ask for a swimming schedule.</p>

<p align="justify">Tight abs, you think with green-eyed cynicism, belong on magazine covers, on athletic fields, on genetic aberrations, on those desperately lipectomized souls, and on people who treat a bowl of macrobiotic assortment of shredded leaves and grated veggies as ambrosia.</p>
<p> And just as you look down at that unconditioned, droopy belly of yours, with a sigh of resignation, there comes along another diet plan, promising you those washboard flat abs you&#8217;ve been secretly hankering for &#8211; <strong>The Abs Diet for Women</strong> &#8211; devised by <strong>David Zinczenko</strong>, the Editor of <em>Men&#8217;s Health</em>, which is a follow up of The Abs Diet.<br /> <img src="http://www.menopausetheblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/belly-fat1.jpg" alt="Belly Fat" hspace="10" vspace="10" width="166" height="175" align="left" />According to Mr. Zinczenko, belly fat has the potential to kill you. While some people store the fat under the belt line, others have it above it. At any rate, abdominal fat doesn&#8217;t simply hang around there on the belly, doing nothing.</p>
